Jacoby Brissett only threw the ball three times on Sunday afternoon, but that was vastly superior to anything we saw from Scott Tolzien. After a disastrous season-debut from the veteran, is it time to move on to the 24-year old?
Chuck Pagano wouldn't commit to that yesterday:
Pagano still not ready to give Brissett the starting role. Says he and coaches will continue to discuss possible qb change.— Jason Spells (@JasonSpells) September 11, 2017
If Brissett is indeed the long-term backup for Andrew Luck, then it only makes sense to give him the opportunity to start some games. He already had two starts under his belt in New England, and the more chances he gets, the more you feel comfortable with him should he be pushed into action beyond 2017.
Tolzien, who is a nice guy and has said all the right things, just doesn't belong on the field.
