We’re now almost two full days into the NFL’s Free Agency period.  Here’s the latest update on the Colts’ in-house free agents, and some of the outside help they’ve brought in:

Re-Signed: 8

CB Vontae Davis (4 Years/$39M, $20M Guaranteed) – The Colts had to overpay to keep the 25-year old Davis, and are hoping he lives up to his potential.  He's been a mixed bag so far.

K Adam Vinatieri (2 Years/$5M) – As others noted, Vinatieri would finish this contract playing ten seasons as a Colt, and ten as a Patriot.

P Pat McAfee (5 Years/$14M) – Interesting caveat in McAfee's contract: He was reportedly promised a chance to compete for the starting kicking job if/when Vinatieri departs.

RB Ahmad Bradshaw (1 Year/$855K) – A contingency plan for the disappointing (so far) Trent Richardson and Vick Ballard, who is coming off major knee surgery.

DE Fili Moala (1 Year/$1.4M) – Adds DL Depth.

S Sergio Brown (UND) – A Special Teams ace who doubles as a backup Safety.

OLB Justin Hickman (UND)

OLB Cam Johnson (UND)

Signed: 2

ILB D’Qwell Jackson from Cleveland (4 Years/$22M, $11M Guaranteed) – Jackson turns 31 in September, but has been highly productive in his NFL career.  He will likely start alongside Jerrell Freeman in the middle of Indy’s defense.

DE/NT Arthur Jones from Baltimore (5 Years/$33M, $16M Guaranteed) – A former Chuck Pagano disciple, Jones gives the Colts a pass rusher to compliment Robert Mathis.

"Victory" in the background... nice.

Gone: 3

S Antonie Bethea to San Francisco (4 Years/$23M) – After paying LaRon Landry $24M last offseason (oops) to play the same position, the Colts couldn't afford to bring Bethea back into the fold.

RB Donald Brown to San Diego (3 Years/$10.5M, $4M Guaranteed)  Brown was terrific last season, but the Colts are hoping a starter will emerge out of their Richardson-Ballard-Bradshaw backfield.  Fingers-crossed.

OL Jeff Linkenbach to Kansas City (UND) – With Satele and Linkenback both gones, Colts' fans will have to find a new punching bag on the offensive line.

Still Waiting: 8

LB Pat Angerer – Drafted to be a 4-3 MLB, Angerer never really fit into the 3-4 once the Colts changed schemes.  Injury issues held him back, too.  Will not be a Colt next season.

LB Kavell Conner – Conner, who had over 200 tackles in 42 games over his first three seasons, struggled to see the field last year, and was even a healthy scratch for a few games.  It’s unlikely that he’ll be back.

NT Aubrayo Franklin – Even with the signing of Jones, he could be back to help out the DL depth chart.

DT Ricardo Matthews – Yet another 2010 draftee with an uncertain future.

OG Mike McGlynn – McGlynn can fill in at either Center or Guard ideally as a backup.  He’s not a starting-caliber player.

LB Lawrence Sidbury – Spent the entire 2013 season on IR and has yet to play a down as a Colt.  Perhaps he'll get another chance to be a backup.

CB Cassius Vaughn – Indy will likely try to bring him back to resume his role as a backup corner.

WR Darrius Heyward-Bey – Hahahahahaha. No.
