The Raptors are the Red-Headed Stepchild of the NBA

“The Raptors are being discriminated against because they hurt ratings in a substantial fashion.”

Even though the Raptors finished the season with the second most wins in the NBA, Clay Travis says the TV networks aren’t too thrilled with their recent rise to the top of the standings this half-decade.

The team has won an average of 52.6 games the past 5 years, but Travis says the biggest TV networks in America hate seeing the Raptors brand on their telecasts since Canadian viewership doesn’t count towards their cumulative ratings.

Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan going up against Bradley Beal and John Wall may seem like the sexiest first-round series of the playoffs, but Tuesday’s Game 2 will be relegated to NBATV while the Bucks vs. Celtics get TNT and the Pelicans vs. Blazers gets ESPN.
