Adam Silver isn't happy about star players resting during the season, and since the teams don't seem to be doing anything about it, he decided to be proactive:
In the memo, Silver threatened "significant penalties" for teams not abiding by league rules concerning player rest, and also said it would be discussed further next month during league meetings. The timing is no coincidence - Cleveland rested their big three in a 30-point loss to the Clippers on Saturday, a game that aired nationally on ABC. Just a week ago, the Warriors did the same with their stars, laying down against San Antonio.
