Peyton Manning is a beloved figure in Indianapolis, and was one of the faces of the NFL for many years, so naturally people have strong reactions to him playing golf with President Trump. First, here is the photo of the group who hit the links yesterday.

Naturally, because he's such a lightning rod for controversy, Trump's choice of golfing partner sparked a lot of reaction on the internet. Some people were cool with it...
Peyton Manning golfed with President Trump today and Dems are losing their minds.— Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) June 4, 2017
Another GREAT day in America#SundayFunday
While others lost some respect for Manning...
Peyton had been one of my fave players, but he changed that today by playing golf w/Trump. Anybody who normalizes Trump loses my respect— Kenny BooYah! (@KwikWarren) June 5, 2017
Regardless of your views on Donald Trump, or Peyton deciding to golf with him, it has long been speculated that Manning could run for public office someday. Just because he's playing 18 holes with the President and a Senator, it doesn't mean such a run is imminent, but keep in mind that people think it will happen somewhere down the line:
