The Colts have been searching for a consistent threat at tight end since the Dallas Clark Era came to an end. Can Jack Doyle be that guy?
Doyle got the big deal that Caplan talked about - a $20 million extension - and new GM Chris Ballard moved Dwayne Allen to show Indy's faith in him as a #1 TE.
The Colts haven't had a consistent threat since Dallas Clark as Allen and Coby Fleener both struggled with injuries and inconsistency. Last year alone, Doyle had more catches (59) than Fleener had in any season in a Colts' uniform, and more yards (584) than Allen had in his five seasons in Indy.
