It's officially Mock Draft season! Yay!
If you're not aware of what that is,
hundreds thousands of NFL writers, analysts, bloggers, and tweeters compile predictions for what they think each team will do in the 2018 NFL Draft. However, a guy who has been at it longer than just about anyone, Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN, commands respect.
In his first Mock Draft for 2018, Kiper projects that the Colts - unlike every other team in the top-five - will go defense:
In 1st mock draft, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has Colts snatching NC State DE Bradley Chubb.— Mike Chappell (@mchappell51) January 18, 2018
1. Cleveland - Wyoming QB Josh Allen
2. NY Giants - UCLA QB Josh Rosen
3. Colts - Chubb
On Chubb: 'tremendous motor and has been unblock able for two straight years . . . a great fit.
The full Mock and write-ups are here (you'll need an ESPN Insider password to access it).
Chubb and Saquon Barkley are the two most popular Colts' picks for that #3 spot, but don't be surprised if they field offers from teams looking to trade up. The Jets, who desperately need a quarterback, would probably like to get ahead of Denver (5) and possibly Cleveland's second selection (4), especially with the Giants almost guaranteed to take a signal-caller at #2 overall.
