WATCH: Ref Congratulates Tom Brady

If you think the NFL is rigged/in the bag for the Patriots, you got some extra ammo following today's AFC Championship Game:

While I'm not a conspiracy theorist (no, I don't think everything is rigged in favor of New England), I have to agree with Mike Chappell that this is extremely bad optics.

The Jaguars had several critical penalties, some legitimate but some questionable, which totaled 98 yards. Meanwhile, the Patriots were penalized just once. Again, the lack of flags doesn't always equal a conspiracy, but it feeds the fan narrative that something isn't right.

The perception that the league favors the Patriots is one of the many problems the NFL has, and stuff like this, even if it was done with good intentions, can't happen right in front of the public eye.
