Today was a tough day for our community as Boone County Sherrif's Deputy Jacob Pickett was laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery:
Pickett, who was senselessly murdered a few days ago, was just 34 years old, and a father and a husband. His death was the latest in a string of tragedies that has affected Boone County - Western Boone student Sydney Foster was tragically killed in a car accident last week and Lebanon city councilman
That's an area of the state that is particularly close to my heart, as I've always viewed Lebanon as my "adopted" hometown. I had four college roommates from there, and many of my dearest friends grew up in that town. It's a loving community filled with wonderful people.
Our thoughts are worth everyone in Boone County.
