After proving doubters wrong all season long, you can't fault the Pacers for being confident in their chances against the reigning East champ Cavaliers and LeBron James. However, it's probably not wise to give The King too much bulletin board material.
Joe Young doesn't care. The Pacers' backup guard gave this quote to the IndyStar today:
So ... I'm sure Joe meant to say "4-1." I'm also guilty of not catching the miscalculation here.— Dakota Crawford (@DakotaCrawford_) April 12, 2018
The point remains though: He thinks the #Pacers can upset the Cavs and hand LeBron his first first-round loss.
LeBron will be motivated regardless, so I'm not sure if the comment really matters at the end of the day, but the Pacers should proceed with caution when it comes to stuff like this. They're 0-for-4 in their previous attempts to dethrone James' teams, and while this Cavs' team could be his weakest of the current decade, better Indiana teams couldn't get the job done against him.
