Robert Wickens is awake, alert, and is expected to recover from a horrific crash. That's the most important thing.
However, yesterday's incident resulted in a list of serious injuries for the Canadian star. Wickens' Schmidt Peterson Motorsports team released this update on his status late last night:

Reportedly, Wickens' lower extremity injuries include breaking both ankles and his right arm is also broken. Obviously, broken bones aren't ideal, but those heal, and Wickens is fortunate that the injuries aren't far more serious. Graham Rahal said it well on Twitter:
All things considered, this is great news. Arms and legs are repairable, your head and brain as we’ve all heard plenty about, is not. Thinking about @robertwickens tonight, and always until we see him back in an @indycar running at the front! Get well Robbie. https://t.co/aUuvDBRGap— Graham Rahal (@GrahamRahal) August 20, 2018
Best wishes to Robert Wickens in his recovery.
