After resurrecting Michigan's program, John Beilein is hoping to do the same to the post-LeBron Cavaliers.
The 66-year old is leaving the Big Ten to take over as the head coach of the Cavs:
Beilein led the Wolverines to nine NCAA Tournament appearances, which doesn't sound like a lot, but they went to zero for a nine-season period before his arrival (1999-2007). Michigan also went to the 2013 and 2018 Final Fours, losing in the 2013 title game to Louisville. They won the Big Ten regular season (2012, 2014) and the Big Ten Tournament (2017, 2018) titles each twice.
He had a brief flirtation with the Pistons recently and it was believed he was going to take a final shot at being a pro coach, if offered. The deal with Cleveland is for five years.
