Could The Pacers Target Randle?

When discussing potential free agent targets for the Pacers, the A-types (Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, possibly Kevin Durant, etc.) aren't usually feasible. However, Indiana has plenty of cap room to go after the B-types and it looks like an intriguing young one will be available: Julius Randle.

Randle, who is still just 25 years old, will likely get a bump from his $9M player option and several teams are already reportedly interested, including the Knicks, Suns, and Nets. He's coming off a career-high 21 points per game season and has improved his three-point shot, but would he be a fit in Indiana? There are some concerns that he's too much of a ball-stopper on offense and a roster that already includes Myles Turner and Domas Sabonis may get a little too crowded with another young 4/5 looking for touches.

Regardless, this isn't the first time Randle's name has popped up with the Pacers. Back when Paul George was here and wanted to go to L.A. (ah, the good old days!), Randle was often mentioned as a trade piece because he was one of the few assets the Lakers had to offer. There was even a report that Randle and the 27th and 28th picks in the 2017 Draft were on the table for George, a lesser deal than what the Pacers ended up taking with Oklahoma City.

Would you pursue Randle if you were Kevin Pritchard? Leave your take on our Fox Sports 97.5 Facebook page.
